Father Day Weekend brings the Edmonds Arts Festival and a tradition in the Lindstrom Family
My Dad loved the Arts Festival, he attended year after year…even toward the end of his life in a wheel chair. I may have pushed him through the mud a time or two…this is Washington State.
Each Year there is a featured Edmonds Arts Festival Poster that is painted by a different artist every year. They are collectors’ pieces. We have the 2016 poster currently hanging in our living room.
Our Seattle wedding reception was in the Library…the site of the festival. That year My mom gave Jana’a parent’s a 1997 Edmonds Arts Festival poster, and to this day it still hangs in Don and Lacy’s dining room in Des Moines Iowa.
The crowds Show up all weekend…even though it’s always on Fathers’s day weekend. This year it is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 16th, 17th and 18th. We never miss it…rain or shine.
There are many great works of art from a variety of different artists. Pottery, all kinds of Paintings, Photography, Yard art, Furniture, Clothing, Purses, all kinds of jewelry, Hats, Childrens’s toys, Wood Carvings, Honey and jams and Jellies, Berries, Handmade Soaps and lotions, beautiful Rag rugs, knitted scarves and gloves and more,
Our Home is full of art and more treasures, that we’ve purchased at the Edmonds Arts Festival. Last year our major purchase was a beautiful Rag Rug. We can’t wait to go back!
Maybe we’ll post a picture of our 2017 fun purchase!
